Art Creations Friday Challenge

This piece uses the brilliantly colorful background for this week's Art Creations Friday Challenge.
The images are from Paper Whimsy and piddix.

Theme Thursday Challenge - tags

This is my tag for this week's Theme Thursday challenge. I used an embossing powder resist technique on the background. The image is from Collage Visions.

Variations on resists

This weekend I played around with some resist techniques for backgrounds and made a bunch of cards. The first is a gesso stamped swirl and distress ink rubbed over the paper with cut and dry foam.

Next, was another gesso resist but this time the distress ink was applied using the wrinkle free distress technique.

Same wrinkle free distress technique but the resist is a stamped image with versamark and clear embossing powder.

This one uses the clear embossing powder technique again, but I stamped over newsprint then brayered over the piece with black versafine.

Finally, I tried the same technique but using a page from a book and brayered over it with brown versafine. Kind of neat how you can still read the text through the brown ink. This one I made into a thank you card because I needed something to send out!

Sunday Postcard Art

Another "numbers" theme this week, this time at Sunday Postcard Art. I decided to use a bunch of numbers instead of just one: ledger paper, rulers, gaffer tape, beads, and metal letters. The image is from Lisa's Altered Art and the stamp used is from My Tattered Angels.

Saturday Workout Challenge

"Sparkling" is this week's challenge at Saturday's Workout - I hope this photo shows you the different ways my tag sparkles. I used Glimmer Mist over a stencil for the background, then for the flower I used a Tim Holtz technique with Perfect Pearls and Distress ink (see his video demo here), and finally added some acetate stars adhered to the tag with Diamond Stickles and a few extra dots of the Stickles by the flower stem. The stamps used are from Close to my Heart.

Art Creations Friday Challenge

This cute girl for this week's Art Creations Friday challenge is also an image from Gaby Braun. I layered her over a big Heidi Swapp flower embellished with a flourish stamp from Crafty Individuals.

Theme Thursday Challenge - Numbers

This is an ATC for this week's Theme Thursday Numbers challenge. The picture of three women is a freebie from Gaby Braun's blog and the bingo card background is from Ten Two Studios.

Wednesday Stamper - mixed media

I acquired these mini hangers from Stampington and thought this week's challenge at Wednesday Stamper would be a fun way to use one. My mixed media piece uses Claudine Hellmuth's sticky back canvas and her multi-medium stamped resist technique. I used watercolor crayons for the background and watercolor pencils on the stamped image. Stamp credits: Making Memories foam stamp, Club Scrap, and Purple Onion Designs.

Tag Tuesday - Pockets

I found a recently started tag challenge by Louise at Kard Krazy. The theme this week is pockets so I added an acetate pocket to this tag. It's stamped with white StazOn using a BoBunny stamp. I tucked into it one of my favorite photo stamp images from Oxford Impressions. The background text stamp is from Hero Arts. I'll look forward to more of these challenges - Louise always seems to come up with creative themes!

Sunday Postcard Art - Postage People

This was a really fun challenge to do! Sunday Postcard Art's theme this week was to make postage people. I had fun finding all the pieces for this collage - snippets of ephemera, a body and hat from a Collage Visions collage sheet, tiny typewriter keys chipboard alphabet and cancellation stamps from Purple Onion Designs - not sure what country the stamp is from though... he just seemed to fit.

Dans ma maison il y a... la nuit et ses étoiles

This is my house for Dans ma maison il y a... My photo is kind of angled to be able to show the stars that are stickles on acetate. I used the stickles as a glue to attach them to the distress ink background. Tree stamp is from Posh Impressions.

Art Creations Friday challenge

This week for Art Creations Friday a beautiful background from Wil is to be used in the challenge. I just love the canvases she paints - such wonderful texture!!! When I first looked at the background, sections made me think of feathers so I wanted to do a bird collage - of course I covered up the "feathery" texture section with the collage, but it was my inspiration! Stamp credits: Crafty Individuals, Prickley Pear and Technique Tuesday.

Theme Thursday - Men

This is my ATC for Theme Thursday. The collage sheet image is from Collage Visions and the car stamp is from Oxford Impressions.

Created Byhand Challenge - postage

This is a skinny for this week's Created Byhand challenge. My postage stamp is a stamp from Rubber Trouble that I've always loved - the penny postage jubilee. The other stamp is from Inka Stamps and the butterfly image on a postcard is from a digital collage sheet from Sabinesydney on etsy.

Art Creations Friday Challenge

Since it's Mother's Day, I thought this week's Art Creations Friday image would make a beautiful card on that theme. Love you Mom - and have a happy Mother's Day!!

Created Byhand Challenge - blobs and spatters

This week's Created Byhand challenge was about blobs and spatters. Instead of creating them with paint or ink, I used them in my background by splashing water onto paper covered with distress inks. My stamp is from Stampers Anonymous and my tiny fairies are from Lisa's Altered Art.
